Played this course this past week for the first time. The greens were excellent and the course is very playable. Id have to say that the constant fly overs were a distraction but, this IS an air base. I was surprised not to have seen a beverage cart all day.

Played the course this past Friday in a tourney. The course needs some serious TLC. The tee boxes are in horrible shape. They have prices rates have been increased, not worth the $47.00 on weekends.

Cedar Point Golf Club is a fine course with professional staff, good facilities, and a fantastic location on the Chesapeake Bay. The course is relatively forgiving for wayward tee-shots, and many holes allow for a good rip with the driver. The fairways are relatively flat with very little side-side slope. The greens are the best maintained in Southern Maryland. They tend to be firm, they roll pretty smooth, have interesting shapes and can be tricky to read. The par 5's are all straightforward with only one reasonably reachable in two. The par 4's vary in length with one offering a choice to 'drive the green' and others needing a long iron to reach even with a decent tee-shot. The par 3's are solid! The two shorter ones carry over water, but have sloped greens, while the longer ones are well bunkered. This is definitely a favorite.

Nothing else like trying to play golf when there is an airshow going on (minus the rock music blasting on the loudspeakers). A great, and at the same time different golf experience.

The one or two bunkers I made it to were fine, although the course had recently been aerated. I don't think it detracted too much from the play though.

I play this course very often. The course has improved over the years however the sand traps are still, by far, the worse I have ever seen. There is no reason for their conditions. The only thing that helps your game is the inconsistency of the traps. They are hard, soft, but worse of all, there are many that are nothing but rocks. I will and have taken a penalty stroke before I damage a club. This course could be one of the best in our area if it wouldn't be for this. Come on, sand is not that expensive when you consider the cost of keeping up a course i.e. green maintenance and staff to maintain the remaining aspects of the course.

After a long layoff

Used to be my home course. Just getting back into golf after a nine year layoff and this course has really benefited from Butch Butler's long tenure as PGA Pro and a lot of investment from MWR. Even with this spring/summer's screwy weather, they have kept the course in great shape. The 'new' clubhouse - new to me anyway - is a great facility.
