The 18-hole "Northeast" course at the Compass Pointe Golf Courses facility in Pasadena, Maryland features 7,134 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Lindsay B. Ervin, ASGCA, the Northeast golf course opened in 2003.
Played the North 9, then the East 9 on a very hot June Saturday. The North 9 is a very punishing layout if you are a mid to high handicapper like me. If you do not hit the ball crisply on your shots, then consider playing another course - you will be frustrated. The North 9 holes are probably a great challenge for low handicap players, but 21 handicappers like myself will struggle. There are quite a few environmental areas to navigate around and the rough is punishing. Bring plenty of golf balls. Most ridiculous hole was the 8th hole, a 585 yard par 5 with two environmental areas to deal with. And that distance was from the white tees! The 10 I posted on that hole really hurt. The North course itself was in great shape. Nice fairways and true greens. Much better shape than the East course.
