Great course, very nice staff, GREAT VALUE!

The other posters have pretty much nailed it. I live in Mt. Airy and have only played it a few times. Every time I finish I tell myself that was fun and I should come back. But then every time I go out to play I decide to go to a standard course to "grip it and rip it". This is a strange combo of catering to beginners while punishing them with tight fairways. I'm thinking that there are a lot of lost balls in those woods.

Could not agree more about the tee shot on #8. Rare chance to hit driver you launch from a high point to a fairway way down the hill. IF you hit it right it seems to float in the air for 2 minutes. I play a lot of golf and that is one of the best tee shots in the region.

Another issue for the better player used to good courses is of course the speed and condition of the greens. I'm not a course snob like some of my friends but playing on greens like this may screw you up when you show up at Maryland National the next weekend.

But I think I'll play here today. Hitting precise 6 irons into tight fairways isn't a bad thing. Just don't want to do it all the time.

This is a great course! If you think you have to use your driver with every hole you won't like this course. Forget the driver and break out your short sticks and enjoy!! The scenery is great and the course is a challenge. My favorite hoel is the 5th...a tee shot to a relatively smal alnding area then a sharp dog leg left and down hill. The 8th is also a beautiful Tee shot from an elevated Tee box.

I love this course - aqs an aging baby bomer it's nice tpo p[lay a course where you need to bring your skills and not your power balls. I used my driver twice and felt good to step back and use a more accurate 3 wood. The course is in great shape - you play the course literally - use the terrain to your benefit and you'll have oe of your best times playing golf at a price that would get only 4 holes on other courses that are made for the likes of Tiger and Phil - play the course and take a reality check on how you play the game - I have a a great smile on my face from play this great little course

Tucked away in a distant mountain valley...this course has an isolated feeling about it...deep in the "boonies" so to speak. I hit my driver only twice and did have to use almost every club in my bag. A bit short by golf course standards, but the scenery gets you absorbed into your round. The course is tight and you have to execute your short game precisely. Greens were very slow with some severe slopes. Loved the abundance of pines...reminds me of Caledonia in Franklin County (PA). I think this would be a course that would grow on you if you can get over the fact that you won't need your driver. Hole #8 is one of the most beautiful tee shots you will find in the area- I did use my driver there!

This is a "love/Hate relationship course". Although it is short, it will test and tease you with risk/reward shots - over and over. I Like the course. If you are a person that is easily furstrated, dont play here because you will be frustrated. This course demands that you know and trust your clubs. It will severly penalize you for your mistakes and send you home beating your steering wheel(don't have a accident.) I play this course many times a year and I love it. I don't like paying rent and upkeep for the clubhouse in addition to my green fees ! I came to play golf!!...and this is a pretty good value course because it only costs $15.00 WITH CART with TTime pass book!!!.....5X in 2007 !! I guarantee you will go home feeling one of 2 ways......happy or...."you know what!!" i.e. XX!!&^^**&^^% !!!!!

I should have known it was garbage when I pulled up and noticed that the clubhouse was a cinder block building.
It's cheap, but even at $22 to ride eighteen it's a ripoff. It's built into the side of wooded hills. The only flat parts of the course are the tee boxes. Even the fairways are so sharply sloped that you stand a 50/50 chance of having your tee shot roll off the fairway into the woods that surround nearly every hole. One hole has a severe dog leg left that forces you to lay up in a patch of fairway that's only about 350 square feet. Everything before that is weeds and rocks so your two choices are: shoot for the landing area and have your ball bounce into the woods dead ahead, or, hit short and take your second shot among boulders and weeds. Many of your tee shots from the back tees are completely blind shots over hills, or straight down off of cliffs. The greens have such severe slopes that a missed putt can roll right off.

I quit keeping score after the front nine and gave up altogether after 13. The 14th hole is a dog leg sharply sloped down and left. The only choices you have from the tree-surrounded back tees are: hit your tee shot about fifty yards and take your second shot down the fairway to the left, or try to hit over the fifty foot tall oak trees just left of the box. I took one look at that and headed for my car.

Save your $22, add a few buck, and go play a real golf course.

Very well priced course and never really busy. I am in the process of teaching my fiance to play golf and this is a great course to teach anyone.
