Richland Golf Club, Middletown, MD

Played on 4/6/12. Greens had just been punched, but still rolled ok. Course was in otherwise good (but not great) shape. Recommend playing blue tees for longer hitters / lower handicaps as the whites can take driver out of your hands for a number of the holes. Course plays fairly tight due to numerous OB and staked areas and wind is typically blowing. Worth the play at $40-$50. Look at other courses in the area if comparing at $60.

I played this course on 26 November 2011 a few days after heavy rain. The fairways were in great condition, though a little wet in the lower areas. Greens were very fast and not well maintained as they had not been blown off previously in the day. A lot of dead and dried up worms, leaves, and rough ball mark divots. The sand traps were in terrible condition having been flooded in the days prior, but no apparent maintenance or raking on the days that followed. Overall, I would rate the course a little above average. Certainly challenging, but would love to play in the summer when better maintained. Very surprised to see only a few groups on the course given 65 degree weather in Nov. I was alone, able to play two balls, and even repeat several holes without holding anyone up or pushing others ahead of me.
