I played this course for the first time today 9/18/2015. This is a nice facility and the course was in good shape. The fairways are tight in places and can be frustrating due to the slope of the hills falling off to the left and right with no warning. It was nice to meet 2 locals who had played here several times before and had great advice on shot placement. 20+ handicaps will have a hard time with this course.

I played the Chesapeake Hills Golf Course last week and loved it. The course had rolling fairways and elevation changes that were spectacular, by far the best design in the area. The course was also in great shape, especially the greens! The back nine is the better of the two nines as it has few houses on it and is more scenic. The pro shop was fully stocked, the grill room had just been remodeled, and the staff were great. I will definitely play it again; it is a great value for the money!

I live rather close to this course and so I play here often but that's because it is cheap and saves gas money. The course is in terrible shape the greens are slow and they have lost most of them. The people around the course constantly create trouble. And the course has been vandalized numerous times. Would only recommend if you don't have the money or time to go somewhere else

I played this course for the first time. Just starting back playing regularly after almost 18 years With having a beautiful day for the first time in over two months and nothing better to do I decided to take advantage of the play all day special ($47.00 w/cart, M-F) and get in as much as I could until I got tired.
Let me write this like this:

Pro Shop: The pro shop was fairly large and well stocked. The staff was friendly once he arrived. They had one person working in the pro shop and I had to wait 10 minutes on someone to show up to collect my money. There wasn't anyone paying attention to what was going on. If I weren't an honest person, I could have gone ahead and got a cart and started playing without paying a dime.

Course: The scenery wasn't to bad and as one previous review stated, it is hard to get a even lie. There are several elevation changes and on many of the holes and there are several holes that really make you think with regards to your club selection off of the tee.

Problem: Pace of play. 6 hours to play the first 18 was crazy and this wasn't even a weekend. I got behind a foursome that would not let me play through. I then teamed up with a twosome and this group still wouldn't let us play through. They spent entirely to much time searching for balls and then would stand on the green and discuss what one must assume are putts before exiting. The twosome I teamed with got sick of waiting and went ahead of them. I heard several groups asking where the marshalls were a different times throughout the day. In the score card the golf course rules state "Play will be monitored at a pace of 4.5 hours." So much for rules I guess.

Maintenance: Not bad for a public course that hasn't seen much rain in the last 90 days with temps well into the 90's. Greens had some burn marks and had recently been aerated. They need to treat for the mud wasps. The last 3 holes in particular I noticed that the mud wasps were pretty bad.

Carts were clean and had built in ball and club washers which was nice. However, if you were walking, there were no ball washers at any of the tee boxes. Also, they could use more water stations. I think I counted 3 on the entire course.

Overall I would say this course is a good value and even with the slow pace of play, I would play it again. I know most course around this area use volunteers to be marshalls and hopefully they will get some more.

This course provides one of the best scorecards I have ever seen. It is a booklet that shows all the holes and provides distances.
