A very nice course and a pleasure to shoot. Well maintained. Pace of play is emphasized everywhere but their rules do not permit playing through. With nary a ranger in sight to enforce this we were stuck behind a group of sauntering baboons hitting 3 provisional shots that refused to yield to us.

Decent course, it had rained for several days before I got to play, so the course was wet. But I liked the layout, alot of elevated tees. Special fall rates $21 weekday walking, offer a great value. But they will pack the course, so be prepared for a longer than usual round of golf.

The Best Green's In PG County . I just played 11 different courses in 11 days . This is one of the one's with the best greens . I think its a very good course with a excellent layout . Truly a Gem for the price for sure . Must play

Glenn Dale is a great course in the DC area that may not have the amenities of the newer, longer, more expensive courses, but it is still a well-designed test of golf. From my experience playing this course for the last 3 years or so, you will almost always get better conditions here on any given day than at other courses of comparable price in the DC area.

The course was designed in the 50's so it is pretty short by today's standards, but the amount of green undulation makes the course very difficult under dry conditions. There are also a few pretty tough holes by themselves (#3, #9, #15, #16). Another big positive of Glenn Dale is that there are very few houses lining the fairways and property lines of the course.

I played at Glenn Dale 4/10/09 and the course is already starting to grow in nicely. The greens were a bit bumpy, but it didn't affect play too much and the rain will probably help them fill in soon. They also did the early spring aeration in mid-march f.y.i. so the greens have already recovered.

All in all this is an all-around really nice course that is pretty close to the beltway, and is a must-play if you're within a +/- 40 minute drive away. They also have some cool old pictures and a classic bar downstairs that are all worth seeing...

P.S. It is ridiculous that they make you sign up to GolfLink to write a review... so many more people would write if you didn't have to go through that process with the address disclosure and the whatnot...

nice track. not too difficult - and yes, # 3 is a great hole. fun first tee shot from a very elevated box. some quirky holes, but definitely worth your weekend morning round. if they're not running behind on their starting times - which seems to be most of the time. probably a bit longer round on the weekends - 4 1/2 plus. would be such a nicer experience if they didn't pack it on the weekend. still worth it though

Glen Dale golf,good value

I like to judge a coarse by it's opening and it's finishing holes. At Glen Dale #1 is a nice wide fairly straight hole you can slam your driver from an elevated tee.The par 5 18th is a dog left from an elevated tee, that big hiiters might reach in two, to a very undulateing green. If you like elevated tees, and a well maintained traditional golf coarse, don't miss Glen Dale. This coarse plays tougher than it's 115 slope rating.

Glenn Dale Golf Course

This course is great and the hole # 3 is one of toughest hole in Maryland. I always like to play there because of their reasonable price and is in excellent condition during the spring.
