Almost always in good shape, but not really a good layout. Two of the nine holes are just not good holes (3 + 8) and that is what kills it. If I have my choice of nine hole courses to play, I would pick Whitinsville over Tatnuck every day. Newly remodeled clubhouse is great. Defintely worth playing, but not something that will be anywhere near your top 10.

Everything you would expect from a private course.

A plush scenic 9 hole Donald Ross design course with tree lined fairways and nice elevation changes. There are 18 Tees, 5 of which are significantly different from the front 9. The fairways are some of the plushest around. Being a par 70, the course is deceiving, playing more difficult than the yardage suggest. There are two relitively short risk/reward par 4's on each 9 that you must play well on, because the other four par 4's are long and difficult. The beautiful 500 yard par 5 on the front side, with the last 200 yards playing downhill to a scenic green location can be one of the easiest holes on the course. The 550 yard dogleg par 5 over water on the back is much more difficult. Three of the par 3's playing from 165-175 yards are of medium difficulty, but the 192 yard par 3 11th hole is one of the best around for both it's beauty and challenge. The greens are very nice, not large, but on the slow side for this caliber of golf course.
Being a Donald Ross course it's set up as a great course to walk with the next Tee Box being in close proximity the preceeding green.
True Private Country Club benefits with limited membership, fast pace of play, and plentiful Tee-Times and walk-on availability, even by private country club standards. A family friendly course with mixed Male/Female and children leagues. The Restaurant is arguably the best in Worcester.
