Nice, easy course in Wellfleet. Nice views of the waters of Wellfleet on some holes. My wife and I played Chequessett on a comfortable Friday in July. Chequessett is a short 9 hole, par 35 course on the lower Cape in Wellfleet. There are 18 tees for both men and women, some of which drastically change the hole the second time around. The course contains some easy holes, such as hole #1, a 230ish par 4, hole 6, also an under 300 yard par 4. There are a few more challenging holes, like holes 3 and 4, the former being a dipsy-do par 4 to an elevated green. The 14th hole (the 5th hole the second time around), is a par 3 is a 164 yard carry uphill over some brush. This tee is the same for both men and women - that is an almost impossible shot for most women. The Cape has received little rain recently so the fairways contained quite a few brown spots, but otherwise, the course is in nice condition. We paid $50 for a round of 18 holes. That did not include a cart, which would have been about $20 more per person. We rented pull carts for $6 each. That is a bit pricey, but Cape golf in the summer is pricey. This is actually one of the lower priced deals around in the summer. In summary, a nice, easy, relaxing round with some great views of the Wellfleet harbor.
