Petersham is a nice rural course - really out of the way - the recent tree cutting is a bit disconcerting - but the course is user friendly - Tim - the Pro is very nice and helpful - and only holes 2 and 7 can beat you up. If the course can offer more specials it may draw some folks from other courses. Greens are consistent, sandy, but fast.

Petersham is a pretty little challenge of a course with a friendly staff and decent playing conditions. Tim Bishop - the pro is friendly, helpful and an excellent teacher. The course has quick, undulating greens that are small and typical of Donald Ross's designs. Seven is a very tough hole to par - stay very left to allow yourself a good go at the green - which is hard to "hold". The second hole - a long par three can ruin your round if you are left, right or long! Rates are reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed. Rarely if ever a wait to get on the course - but on weekends call to dodge interclub tournaments. Hilly but not a bad walk.

I played this course the 1st time today (little birthday present to myself) & what a treat! Nestled in the hills of central MA at peak foliage time. Classic Donald Ross-undulating greens running fast & true, natural layout of the land (the #1 hole, 7, is an uphill sloping left to right & BEAST to reach in 2!) & nicely maintained. Small clubhouse w/bar & friendly staff. Off the beaten path but well worth the adventure. See what it feels like to play REAL golf on a 86 year old design. Donald would be impressed! AND only $25 WITH a cart for 18 holes before 10AM!

great course for high handicap wide open greens are a little beat up with bare spots but overall a good course
