Was fortunate enough to play an exceptional championship layout on a wonderful spring sunny day. The course just opened and there were no aeration effects from the previous golf season. The greens rolled true and smooth and they weren't overly fast, very puttable. I will admit the course will always take a backseat to Eastward Ho, because there are no true ocean holes, although you can feel the effects of the ocean wind.
The course is definitely championship caliber, and I am amazed that this course does not have a Mass Open or U.S.Open qualifier. The back nine is a little more difficult than the front nine. Hole #12 is scary. It is less than 400 yards, but it is a dogleg left. Also, it is downhill, so reaching for distance is not the problem. You are shooting to the smallest green on the course, and there is only a minute opening to the green from the right side. I was less than 160 yards away after my tee shot with a downhill hook lie. I was chicken, so I laid up with a sand wedge, sand wedged again, and two putted for my bogie. My personality does not fit this hole, as I am usually a gambler, but maybe golf course management works out at times! This course is a must play.

Played this course as a guest of the Wequasset resort. Loved it. Comparing it to some of the best courses in the United States and being partial to New England golf, I found the visual impact of the course pleasing and the holes challenging. Playing this course in the Spring, as I did, is not seeing the course in peak condition due to aeration of the greens from the fall. The wind on the cape always adds an extra dimension and distance to the golf course. Looking forward to playing it again.
