I'm a local bogey golfer. For a guy like me, playing here is a nice treat compared to other public courses. I can play here for less in the slow season with a far far better overall experience. Not overwhelmingly difficult for a golfer like me trying to get better. I can have a great experience on a nice course that wont make me want to give up! For the more seasoned golfer this course will be VERY underwhelming. The beverage cart prices are very reasonable, but the busy season green fees are NOT! Way too high for a course that is nice yes, but not nearly on the level of some other ones I've played for a lot less, especially since there is a lot of construction going on around the property. I can deal with some dead winter grass to get the cheaper rates. So in the end, I have great fun with my buddies here. But if you are looking for a really challenging round, Check out Gray Plantation or Koasati Pines.

I live in the area and have played once before and overall it was in pretty good shape. Construction in and around course and kind of noisy but enjoyed a nice round with my son. I give the course a fairly high rating except the fees for an afternoon round and were not exactly in line with what I prefer to pay. A little steep for me but staff was friendly and I like the in cart yardage console. I will be back :)

This course is fairly similar to an over-priced tourist trap. The course itself is straight forward, long, and for the most part boring. There aren't really any unique holes to remember. I guess what I liked least about it, however, is the type of grass the course rests upon exception being the fairways. I guess it's fesque or the really soft grass that your ball will rest up on, but when you go to hit the ball it's very difficult to make clean contact. Your club kind of sinks into the grass on your swing thus providing to much of a divot causing you to lose distance control and distance altogether on your iron shots. Very hard to pick it clean. I'd almost rather be using my irons from a concrete surface. The greens played fair and somewhat fast, but because of this grass/rough, which really bordered most greens, chipping close to the hole seemed impossible. The course was lacking in 2nd cut grass approaching most greens. The price of $39 to ride weekday twilight (they didn't permit us to walk) seemed definatley pricey for the quality of the course. Bayou's greatest attribute was that they have alligators on the course, which being from New Jersey, was a first for me playing with them. That, I admit, was really cool. We saw 2 in the pond on the first hole and 2 more sunning themselves up on the bank bordering the 9th fairway. But if your a local, even this probably isn't as thrilling to see as it was for me. They do have logo balls for the collector like myself, a definate plus, but overall for the course itself, I wasn't impressed and actually pretty disappointed. Overall rating, mainly because of seeing the gators alone B+

I went to this course twice in the past year. The first time was during February the course was in horrible shape. The greens were rolling slow and the fairways were all brown. The thing that made this visit most uncomfortable for me was the staff. They all seemed miserable at their job including one lady who checked me out in Pro Shop. She was a short pregnant lady and she could not be more rude. She barked orders at everyone around her and she barely had a smile when she checked me out. It was most uncomfortable to be around her. I vowed that day to never return to play golf there. However a buddy called me about a week ago to go for his bachelor party. I accepted hesitantly and returned to the course. But things had changed dramatically. The course looked a thousand times better and I was greeted by a much friendlier staff, I guess that had new managment there because it was a great improvement!

I got my rounds comped from the Casino and I would have to say it still was not worth the money. I did not really like the casino either. Other than they took care of my rounds with my dad.

Course is boring. Flat. Greens were not in that good of shape. The Club house Sucks with no foor just a vending machine. They said that there would be a cart coming around with food and drinks but we never saw it, With all the great courses through out the state I will not be coming back here!

The course was fun overall. DO NOT go unless you are paying the twilight rate or just won hundreds of dollars at the casino. $120 is CRAZY to pay for this place. $45 is very worthwile and I would love to play here again. There are fancy amenities found everywhere and the layout is great. Plus, what a great name.

Greens are horrible don't waste your time they are all sand. Sucks all the fun right out of the round with those bad sandy greens.

I will never play here again, paid $65.00 to play on greens that are all sand, terrible shape for a classy resort. This is the worst course in the whole area.
I will spend my money else where.

Fazio design is a fun course for casino visitors. Not overly long or overly demanding, you can post a good number here is wind now blowing too hard. No holes are overly memorable but other than that hard to fault.

Not worth it

The web page says $85 per person but I had to pay $130 per person. The green was really slow for an expensive resort course. When I played the greens was running about 5-6. The whole course was pretty flat. I believe Houston's muni course plays about the same as this one.
