Having been at Ft. Polk MANY years ago, it was sad to see how poor the course conditions have become. The track could be spectacular if it was maintained well. There are sand traps on the greens and tee boxes, and putting on the greens is pointless. The old O'Club makes a nice clubhouse, restaurant, and bar. Very disappointing.

It's a shame that Warrior Hills has turned into a bad public course. The layout is amazing, rolling hills, with fairly nice grass surrounding the course. The maintenance has become nothing however. The greens are just rolled sand with some turf, but you can't justify a putt on there. Grass in fairways was not fully cut, and the rough on alot of holes are very high. When I played this course under the management of the old superintendent, the course was in okay condition, but the recent renovations to the club house, and the new golf carts took a lot of money away from the necessity of the golf course, maintenance.

All though it has been under maintenance this course is better than it was 5 years ago. They have a good pro shop the staff is nice and willing to help and it has a nice bar n grill.

Ft. Polk course is open to the public but increased security measures can slow your arrival if checkpoints are up. Course can be on the scruffy side at times but still a good value for practice. Never overly crowded during the week. Worth a visit just to support the troops.

Since the arrival of new Pro Jim Doulin and new Head Greenskeeper Dan Judy the quality of this course has vastly improved over the past 7 months. With the changes being implimented by this quality team WHGC is steadily improving every day. Due to move to a new club house facility on Apr 08 the amenities rating will surely jump up to at least a 3.5; Difficulty should remain the same and maintenance will climb to a 4.5 over the next 9-12 months. Value will move to a 4.5 as the conditions are continually improved by Dan and Jim.
