One of my favorite places to play in the Louisville area. Interesting layout, the holes vary which is nice if your sick of the back and forth style of layout. The course does however have drainage issues and can get way to muddy after rain. It does get real busy on weekend but so does every other course in the city. If this course disapoints you I would be suprised.

Tight fairways, hilly, blind shots abound. Greens are decent. Rough is dense. Easy to loose balls and score high if you don't know the course. Better value is Seneca.

I played the east and west courses in early November and was thoroughly impressed with the course maintenance and playability. Several holes are dogleg or double dogleg(#5 on the west is a double, plus downhill to the green after the second bend... if the pin placement is towards the front as it was when we played, birdies are very hard to find). Unlike CG1's round, the greens were like glass- lightning fast. The greens are large, but several are multilevel and all are undulating and tough to read. Unless your shot lands within 10-15' of the pin, you'll see more three putts than you like.

If you enjoy playing "Fall ball" but hate having to search for your ball under leaves, play here. I saw crews blowing off leaves-twice- on our course during the round. Four water holes on the east- it may be the most scenic in the Louisville area. Friendly staff, great pro shop, and with rates(as of 11/09) of $20 for 18 and a cart, an incredible value. Highly recommended.

Incidentally, the course is 15 minutes- tops- from the airport. If you're passing through with a long layover, it's worth the effort to go play.

Greens are like putting on thick carpet, you need to smack the ball like your driving it for 5 foot putts.
The fairways are so hard you can barley take a divot without breaking your club. This course is in terrible shape for the 44$ price green fees. This is the second time I have played this course in 2 years and each time it has been awfull. I will not play again and do not recomend it.

I have to agree with Gillie last years freeze killed the burmuda grass. I do like the course play everytime I'm in town, but could be $5 or $10 dollars cheaper!

I played all three courses and this review covers all three. The late spring freeze in most of Ky did take it's toll, but the courses have rebounded and played great in early october. The crews were out taking care of the course, all were friendly and did not hinder play. Almost a private club course atmosphere. I will play this couse again when I am in the Louisville area. One of the best courses for the money I have played..

Dead Fairways

May 2007 - No grass in the fairways on most holes. It is tough being penalized for hitting in the middle of the fairway. Also, several fairways were sloped and with there being not grass the balls just rolled off. Played on a weekend. Lots of waiting. Some of the tee boxes were being replaced. Very Disappointing.
