played this course for $18 on a golfnow hotbuy. best deal available. huge gps monitors on carts. greens were in great shape, fairway grass was cut short with a substantial length rough. Tee boxes were excellent. The only weak part was the practice range, not many targets, but the tee area of practice range was as good as tee boxes on the course. Overall this is one of the best kept public courses I have played. Tuesday afternoon finished in 2:50 in a twosome. Would definitely play again.

We make a trip to Kentucky at the end of every February. We've played lots of courses, and though all are a little different, CB is as good as any. I agree with previous comments regarding the friendliness of the pros. Personally, I don't care about the attitude of the members as long as the pro makes me feel welcomed. A great testimony to the course condition is that we arrived in Lexington the evening before and it poured, really poured most of the night. We really didn't intend to play golf because we thought the course wouldn't be open. However, we wanted to see the layout, so we drove into the property to see it. We saw the creek was full and there was some understandable wet spots, but amazingly, the overall condition wasn't bad at all. If the course was in that good a shape in the end of February with all that rain, I assume it is an excellently maintained course with exceptional drainage. Play it if you're in the area. You won't regret it. Nice mix of long, medium, short holes with nice risk/reward factors.

Very Very Very Nice

This is no doubt one of the best public courses in the state. Everything about this course was absolutley perfect. The staff was friendly, the greens were smooth and fast, the fairways were cut short, and the tee boxes were perfect. The GPS system on the carts is another bonus that adds to this course. Quite a few high dollar homes surround the course but most of them are far enough away from the course so that you shouldn't hit one. I will definitely be returning.

Hoity-Toity Wannabe's

I go on a weekend trip to Lexington with co-workers every April. 2007 was the first year we have played at Cherry Blossom. Overall it is a pretty nice course if you go by just the course itself. The "Members" there seem to think that they belong to an actual Country Club. We were not informed that blue jeans were frowned on, so when some of our group showed up in blue jeans some of the "Members" almost had a heart attack... despite the fact that when they showed up for dinner in the club house a lot of them were wearing blue jeans. Doesn't really add up. Besides that, they had a lunch session and a dinner session with no food (other than candy bars & crackers in the pro shop) to eat between rounds. However it was a good value... they charged $38 for the 1st 18 and $20 for a replay. The Pro was actually very nice and tried to accommodate us as best he could. It was more the "Members" that were the problem. When we asked at the bar for some beers to take on the course there were 2 guys in the lounge that looked at us like we were aliens.
