I would like to give the maintenance crew 5 star ratings, for maintaining this awesome course. I have played at smaller golf courses with bigger crews and they don't come close the the detail that Auburn Hills crew shows. With the extreme high temperatures we have had this year, the maintenance crew keeps this course in great condition. I will enjoy playing this course over and over again. This is the best Municipal course by far.

By far the best course in Wichita. The greens were aerated about 3 weeks ago and they are in great condition as played the other day. Ball rolled true with great pace. Keeping the ball in the fairway is the only way to score decent at this course. Got wild on the 10th hole... made a 9. When the wind is out of the south this course plays a little easier with the exception of 2 and 12, the rest are cross and downwind holes with a chance to play well when the greens are as nice as they are most days.

Played this beautiful course on Friday morning July 17, 2009. Fairways were well maint. Greens however had several thousand ball marks on each and everyone. What was the best paart of the day was the FIVE AND ONE HALF HOURS it took to get around the course. A foursome two groups ahead that allowed no one through on the front 9, so we stopped for lunch. After lunch and a extra drink for good measure, we took off on the back, after playing number ten, who did we come up on? you got it. Complaints to the clubhouse and the beverage cart were answered with "the marshall is stuck in the club house alone". I will try this place again in another lifetime, when maybe someone learns how to run a golf course.

I loved this course, even though my score doesn't reflect it. Don't miss the fairways; you will pay dearly with strokes and the cost of new balls. Overall, I really enjoyed playing here.

A very nice course to play. It's way too tough for a 29-handicapper such as myself, but had fun nonetheless. They allow fivesomes, so be prepared for a five-hour round.

Great course, definitely the best public course in Wichita.

Not for the average slappy who hits driver on every hole, the trouble on this course will keep the driver in the bag on many of the par 4's, unless you like penalty strokes. A lot of hackers play this course once (And only once). Course gets jammed up on weekends, but clears up around 3-5, I've flown around the course in 3:30. No fivesomes, this is real golf.

The multiple sets of tee boxes allow golfers of differing skill levels to still have a nice round. Hazards or OB are in play on every hole. The USGA held Public Links qualifying here in 2006, 151 (Seven over) won with and that was after the USGA moved a few of the tee boxes up on day two after some guys threw up some brutal scores on day one.

Well worth the money.

My brother and i went out on a Sat. morning with our father. We had a tee time of 7:10 and we didnt get off the first tee until 7:38 the rest of the time we had a three to five min. wait on each tee...This was a really big disapointment to us. When i got home i found out that i was charged twice for itmes i bought in the club house, the att. that i was given was not what to standard to other golf course, how ever i will play there again i love the lay of the corse and the maint. of it, need to preplace the help they have in the club house...

Tops in the State

Being a well-travelled amateur golfer in the state of Kansas, I have had the opportunity to play on many top flight tracks around the state. Auburn Hills is by far one of the highest quality courses I have ever played. The course can be as challenging as you want it to be, as it offers five different sets of tees ranging from a challenging 7200 yards from the back tees to a modest 5000 from the front. It is well-maintained year round, although the zoysia does go dormant in the winter months. The fairways were extremely well-conditioned this past summer. The greens are among the smoothest and truest I have encountered. It has a real natural layout that is just a ton of fun to play. I would recommend this course to anyone who not only loves a good time or a challenege but also to any individual who is purely a fan of the game.

Nice Course - Long and Challenging

Auburn Hills offers a golfing experience that challenges the newcommer and the seasoned golfer. Hills, bends, water and undulating greens. This course demands that you bring your "A" game in the bag.

exceptional course for the $$

I played the front nine on 6/16/06 - friday morning around 7:30. we had the entire course to ourselves. great, tough holes. I was playing with some beginners so we played the forward tees but the course still challenged the better players.

This course has an unbelievable rating of 76.0 from the tips with an unheard of slope - 142! Lots of waterEven the forward tees rate above 70 (70.5). I will definitely hit this course again next time I am in wichita.

service was basic. but I have to admit, I am not one for being waited on. Just want to play golf. I can't comment on the practice facilities other than the smallish putting green next to the clubhouse. Greens were in good shape, sort of slow, held full iron shots well.

verdict: Play this course if you have the chance.
