Sand trap with a golf course in it. Lots of fun. Not that expensive.

Purgatory is a great example of what happens to most high-end daily fee courses. When it opened, it was WITHOUT QUESTION a top 50 public course in the United States. I first played it in July 2004, and it was GOLF HEAVEN. The fescue was about 6 feet high all over the course so you could see only the hole you were playing, not power lines, horse farms, or other golfers. The conditions were Augusta National caliber. The beauty was amazing and unrivaled. BUT, it was expensive, and due to the high fescue and difficulty, rounds were going 5+ hours. The course had two options. Jack the rates over $100 per round and space tee times out 12-15 min apart. Or, cut the fescue down, and start offering discounted rates and twilite, etc. Unfortunately, they chose the second. The course is still really nice, but not nearly as scenic or perfectly groomed like it was 5 years ago. You can now play 36 holes for $100, which is still a great deal.

I don't know why this course is rated so low because it is a great track. One of my favorites and I have played quite a few courses. It is pricey but it is a wonderfully maintained, demanding layout. A must play!

Pretty challenging. Fairways weren't in that great of shape, especially for the price. Donkeys & Horses on the farm next door are a little distracting, especially for the price. Overall, it's a fun & challenging place to play, but expensive.

I like the length. Play from the back tees and bomb it. The staff was relatively unfriendly. Course was in good condition when I played it. Over-priced.
