The 18-hole "Maple Creek" course at the Maple Creek Country Club facility in Indianapolis, Indiana features 6,656 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.0 and it has a slope rating of 130 on Rye grass. Designed by Pete Dye, ASGCA, the Maple Creek golf course opened in 1961. Jim Grossi, PGA manages the course as the General Manager/Golf Professional.

I call Maple Creek a once in a lifetime opportunity, and not in a good way. I am a high handicap player and for me the trees, water, sand and OB jammed together on this small layout made for a frustrating, unpleasant morning. Courses like this one may thrill the avid player, but I believe they contribute to the decline of golf as a recreational sport. It's just not fun.
