I've played Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Medinah No.3 and Troon North among many others and I can say Olympia Fields'North and South courses are both truly elite due to the meticulous maintenance, amazing amenities and the championship level of play that is at sometimes overwhelming. It's a difficult challenge for even some of the best golfers and can bring some to tears:)All around its a great place to enjoy a round or two and have a great meal at the 73rd Hole or Stagg Room.

From the moment you arrive on property you can feel the history behind this traditional chicago-land golf course. From the back tees this course is insanely difficult with contstant long irons to well bunkered firm fast green complexes. Not as fun as the south course at OFCC in my opinion but overall is a truer test of championship style golf. Its everything you want and more in a US Open golf course

One of the best classic courses I've ever played - it's long, tough but fair and does what the best courses do: reward good shots and punish poor ones. The course is kept in tournament play conditions. Truly one of the greats!

Awesome venue. Not particularly scenic, but fantastic tournament course. 36 holes.

Classic History

US Open 2003, won by Jim Furyk, four players broke par, Bobby Jones lost 1928 US Open on 36th hole of playoff, Walter Hagen won 1925 PGA, Jerry Barber won 1961 PGA, five Western Opens, NCAA Finals, US Senior Open in 1997. This course is a wonderful "parkland" architectural masterpiece, circa 1922. Views of the 10 story Clocktower from many tees, hills and valleys along Butterfield Creek, built along the Illinois Central commuter line with a station at the Club. World's Largest Men's Locker Room and Clubhouse can make this a memorable day. No doubt it belongs among the best traditional courses in the world.

This is a Great Golf Course

This course is obviously one of the greatest. True, it is difficult, but it is also very fair. Good shots don't rely on luck and they are rewarded.

The word is that the members prefer to play the other course at the club as the Championship course is too long for many. This means there is very little traffic on the North course explaining why it is so amazingly pristine.
