All of these reviews are outdated. This course has been well maintained for the past few years and looks and plays great. Tough enough for the scratch golfer but easy enough from the front tees for everyone to enjoy.

Played back nine yesterday and the owner threw me off the course for going into the wood/brush and trying to retrieve a ball. I stood there in total disbelief as he screamed profanities at me at the top of his lungs, tried to rip my golf bag off the cart and threw me off the course. Then he got into his golf cart and drove away. The entire encounter lasted about one minute. After he was done I asked myself "Did that just happen?". Worst golf experience I have ever had, hands down. Just stunned that a business owner would be that aggressive with a patron and actually use profanity and attempt to take there personal property with little to no provocation. If you decide to go "Beware of Golf Course Owner".

Ok course for the $35 that it costs on a Fri. Very weedy and the course needs some TLC!! Would have been disappointed to pay a weekend rate! Definitely not worth the extra drive from the Plainfield courses that I usually play. Probably won't go back.

Nice course and the staff is great.Could play very hard if you spray the ball. The greens need to be a little faster but other wise a fun place to play.

whoever designed this should obviously choose another line of work....the owner is extremely rude..would never go back

If you are a golfer who puts a lot of value in the natural scenery a golf course provides then you have to play this course. The scenery is really something special.

Played from the tips this course will challenge you. A few holes could use a little TLC but overall nice. Unusual terrain and a great design job. Very Nice Value if you don't mind the extra drive. Good pace of play.

This course is a fine play. The course is pretty challenging and like one of the previous reviews said, you definately get some peace and quiet here. Could certainly use a little TLC, but still a decent play.

Hugely underated course. Very unique and downright thrilling golf experience. 18 great holes. Best routing I have ever seen. Bring extra golf balls. If you love golf play here.

This is not a course for golfers with a problem with there legs or there ability to walk. There are no handycap flags for the carts and the walk to the green are to long. The tees are elivated but don't have stairs. The greens were in terrable shape. nothing like being in a divot on the green. Wont come back here.

It's not that far and exceeded my expectations.

I was pleasantly surprized by Cinder Ridge Golf course. I grew up in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago. I thought Wilminton was closer to Springfield than it was to Chicago. I was wrong. It's not far by today's standards. This trip was all highway. It's about 45 minutes from Oakbrook and 60-70 minutes from the Loop. Cinder Ridge is just another 10 minutes south of Heritage Bluffs in Channahon, which, by the way, is another nice course.

There are a lot of unique holes. I liked the mix of par 3, 4 and 5 holes. The best part of this course is the privacy. This is due to the hole layout of the course. Rarely, will you run into other golfers on the course, unless they're right behind you. Based on my conversation in the pro shop, this was by design. It's a good place to golf in peace and quiet. It's a private course, which is open to the public, so it's run more like a business. You don't have to deal with annoying park district employees like you do at most public courses. The entire staff was very hospitable.

Personally, I don't mind driving an extra 20 minutes to golf in peace
