Built by Pete Dye but the owners told him they wanted
a golf course and club house
where everyone would feel comfortable. It is the plains of Illinois don’t expect hills and difficult ball placement.
The course does not play as easy as it looks. It used to have flower beds at entry and
at clubhouse but the trees are mature and the distances challenging for seniors and ladies.

Would you believe this is a Pete Dye? At any rate, this is a good course for novice golfers, because it is STRAIGHT. I have had a a lot of fun here over the years. It's nothing exceptional, but it's a good value and they have cheap Stag beer in the clubhouse.

Excellent shape this past summer, now that they have decided it will remain as a golf course.

Not too long, but you need to look closely to see spots where trees crowd fairway here and there. Also, be aware that greens change shape and size drastically around the course. You'll need to play it a couple of times before you can truly "see" what you're facing.

Touchy holes: No. 4, just put tee shot in fairway if you're struggling that day. Don't risk OB left or forest right. No. 9 - Put ball in left-center of fairway with 5-wood or trouble club. You can easily fly a driver through the fairway and OB.

No. 13 - Don't underclub on approach. Green much deeper than it looks. Nos. 15 and 16 - very short par 4s, but you must keep ball out of trees to score well.
