Gotta agree with Johnny...Highland Woods has THE ABSOLUTE BEST GREENS IN THE AREA! Balls roll flat and quick. I am an avid golfer and have played many courses this past Spring and Summer in the Chicago and greater Chicagoland area, and I can truly say that their greens far surpassed any other course. I played a round at Medinah CC with a client of mine in mid-July, and a few of their greens looked discolored with patches of DEAD GRASS on them. For $55 on the weekends, HW is a great deal and is in better shape than a very pricey and private world-class course like Medinah. And the employees were very friendly and helpful. And if we happened to meet up with the maintenance crew, they always pulled off, idled down and allowed us to play through. I would recommend HW to anyone!

Had sprinkers running on nearly half the fairways on Sunday afternoon at 1.00 pm, after heavy rains when everything was already lush. Complained and was told "all golf courses do this". Right!! Employees and management just don't care here.

THE BEST GREENS IN THE AREA! The ball rolled flat and true and the greens were nice and quick. I have a 5 handicap and have played Highland Woods the past 10 years. I have played several courses this spring, and I can say that the greens are the best shape I have ever seen them. The were consistent from hole to hole.
Lot's of Water but with straight drives it hardly comes into play. The scenery was nice with plenty of deer and birds. Since we played in the morning we ran into some fairway and tee mowers. All the workers pulled aside as we approached and waited for us to play through before continuing.
The greens fee with a cart was $55 on weekends. You can play other cheaper courses in the area, but I am sticking with Highland Woods. Thumbs up to Billy Casper management and the Highland Woods employees.

i shoot in the 90-95 range(for now), i really like this course, the staff is friendly, n for $35 you can't beat has traps n water, enough trouble to get u think about how you want to hit your shot but not toooo many where you're not going to enjoy your round...

This course can seem dry, but they can't really help it since it's supposedly the highest point in cook county.
Extra hazard on this golf course... Deer! Lots of deer in the area, great scenery.

Average condition at best. Too many left to right holes for good player. Slow play. Putting surface conditions can be touch and go. Don't see big difference since Billy Casper Golf took over management of county courses.

I played a day after it snowed, course was wet as expected, was $40 bucks for 18 but only played 9 and the cashier wasn't willing to refund the $5 bucks difference because according to them, it really wasn't a big enough difference to charge me for 9 holes. So don't expect any over the top service there. Course was decent, but would have to reveiw again during the season.

Our Knights of Columbus Council had its annual parish golf outing in July at the course. The event went very well. The course was in good condition; the staff were very friendly and accommodating; the catering was excellent. We commend Highland Woods, their pro Joe Bidro and the staff.

Not a bad for a public course. Provides both challenging holes and "breather" holes. Everything was in very good shape and the staff was nice enough. It was a little slow for me as well, but that's pretty much par for the course for any public course around Chicago.

This course is a great course to prove your accuracy. The marshes are only bad if you run out of balls. The water is placed very stategicly. I like this course.

6 Hours to play this courses. The marshals are useless
What a waste of 54 dollars
