This course is a hoot to play. Tiny greens but well maintained. Narrow, long par 3's, short par 4's. Plays along the North Shore Canal. Easy walking, unique layout crosses city streets, tunnels under the El tracks, two holes hit over the Canal, and enjoy the view of the B'hai Temple in Wilmette.

Tough track to score. Tim Herron won the first Evanston-Wilmette Open hear with 3 under par. Most pro's finished well over. If you can shoot your adjusted handicap here, you've accomplished something!

Can't beat it for the price.

Great value

This is a very challenging course for a beginner and even an intermediate golfer. The holes are very short, and there is little room for error, especially near the greens. The course is mostly par 3's, so every shot seems to count. A great course if you want to get good at irons!

The course is easily walked, even without a pull cart, but you can get a motorized cart as well. It's usually not too busy on weekdays, especially when rain threatens or it's very hot outside.

An excellent value, this course is perfect for those looking for inexpensive golf!

Don't Let The Numbers Fool You

This course was named in honor of my grandfather, Peter N. Jans, who was instrumental in getting the land donated and the funds appropriated to build the course. I grew up three blocks from the course and it is where I first learned to play. The course is very short, yet demands pinpoint accuracy on every hole. It's a great track to enjoy a family round of golf--it has challenges for every level of player.
