Cardinal Creek Golf Club, Beecher, IL

A reasonably challenging 9 holes, Center is in better shape than another in foursome remembers. Fairway grass was long, ditto the rough, but traps had been worked on (no rakes left out), and greens were in very good shape for early in the year. South course was closed, not ready yet. A friendly manager questioned us half-way through about playing Center then North, said the "rotation" was North then Center. We had called ahead twice, and talked with a young woman in the pro shop, and had heard nothing about the closing or order of play for each 9. The freedom to play your choice of courses and in what order WAS a Cardinal Creek attraction. Cost was $20 to ride! Finished up just after 5 p.m. and the clubhouse was closed.
