I really enjoyed this course. The greens, fairways, and bunkers were in great shape. The staff was decent, not overly friendly. They have an excellent gps system in their carts. Highly recommend.

Played 4/7/2012...course in great shape. Great layout, perfect bent grass greens. Extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend this course, you won't be disappointed.

Always well kept. Greens are usually good through the summer. Weekend prices are getting out of hand. Wouldn't pay full weekend rate except for rare treat.

First, I must let you know that I am a Canongate employee. Canongate recently took over management of The Frog from another Management Group. I sell memberships for three of the Canongate Southside courses and this was my first trip to The Frog. I read the other reviews before going to the course this morning and was hoping that my experience would be better than some of theirs. I found the staff to be very accommodating even before I announced I was a Canongate employee. The golf course was in great shape. The greens had just been punched last Thursday but were healing nicely. We played in 3 1/2 hours on a Thursday morning with a full tee sheet. I am not sure how the golf course was managed in the past by the previous management group but I feel confident that things have changed at The Frog and would highly recommend you give it a try if you are looking for a great Tom Fazio design that has been ranked 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest.

Okay, as someone who has played this course 3 times (for good reasons), I feel I am obligated to share my experiences with potential future customers. I paid $90 (btw that has been the charge all 3 times I have played this course regardless of weather conditions etc).

The first time I went my tee time was moved up without a single call to me. I signed up for 10:00am but I was told I was already paired with another couple at 9:50am, but they can get me in the 10:30a. Come 10:30 I learned they were running behind schedule so it got moved up to 11am. Fine we got started. After 3 holes of playing, the Starter came by and ask if we can let a handicap group play ahead; 'they play first, they are regulars, etc etc'. And so we obliged. It took us 5 1/2hrs to finish the game because of these handicappers.

I decided that may have been a fluke so give them a 2nd chance at redemption. Frost delay, car path only, still $90. Okay, 6th hole in play and the beer lady came by. We got 2 and I gave her my CC info. She proceeded to tell me we have to wait until she's through with calling the card to the shop before we can have a sip. I almost lost it. Then we got to 15th at 5:30, well the Keeper came by to tell us we have to return the carts in 15mins. Mind you the sun was still shining, but he cited Insurance reasons etc. We again obliged.

Then again it happened a couple of weeks ago, I showed up, paid $90 after reserving tee time 3 days in advance. I an my buddy got there only to be paired with 2 very handicapped players. I mean handicapped in that the lady uses a driver on a par 3 less than 100 yards. It took almost 6hrs to finish. We held up the entire golf course.

You might wonder why I kept coming. The greens are ok, but NOT worth it for almost $100 bucks. I just thought there's more to the charge of $90. Actually there was; it was called VERY BAD SERVICE!!! And the cost is commensurate to enjoying 3-4 weekends at The Hooch, Pine Isle, Lake Lanier, or Collins Hill.

This place is out in the boonies, and the people are somewhat out of touch with the real meaning of customer service. I had a couple of racist remarks made referencing black people (not that I am one), which I thought was distasteful. Shame on the entire staff.

Absolutely the WORST experience on ANY golf course I have ever had. The Pro at the Frog promotes racism and commends rude dangerous play. I would NEVER advise anyone to waste your time at this course.

Nice course; longish from the tips but with good risk/reward.

I played The Frog the last 2 days and can say that is a well designed course, but that is where it ends.
The price is way to high for the condition of the course.Even though, they offer buy one, get one free coupons, they charge you a $25 cart fee for each person, so the price is still higher then comparable courses.
The fairways were thin and hard, the greens were not bad, but not pristine.
The person that helped us at the clubhouse was very rude.
I personally will not play this course again, because there are much better values elsewhere

This course is a good course but, not all it is cracked up to be. I was very dissappointed at the pace of play and the condition of the course. At nearly $80.00 for a round... I can find tons of courses in much better shape, with much better pace, and at a much better price! Bummer.

Great layout, good test

The Frog was a fantastic course when it opened. Not a house on it, perfect conditioning, and FAST greens. It seems though that the financial push in the golf biz has had a negative effect on the course. The conditioning has gone down, and the staff seems to care less about pace of play. While still an excellent layout, and greens that are well sculpted, the demand to get more play to support the club and the unfortunate need to build a community of homes, I am afraid The Frog will never the the Prince that it was.

You will enjoy the course because of the Fazio design, just be ready to deal with slow play and a little less than perfect conditioning.
