You might expect a dog track for the low green fees but you would be completely wrong. Course is in top-notch condition; healthy fairways, smooth true-rolling greens, fluffy bunkers. Holes are challenging but fair. Pace of play was great at four hours. The clubhouse is a run-down double-wide trailer (replacement planned), the on-course restrooms are shabby, and the cart paths are pretty rough, but those are the only things that disappoint. The golf itself is five star.

I have played courses all over the southeast and mid west. From Myrtle Beach to Odessa Texas and from Niagra Fall to the Bears Club in Jupiter Island Florida. The Golf Club of South Georgia is on par with any course in the country except Augusta National! The new owner, Chip is very nice. Ms Spinks is no longer there but Steve the new GM and Chesley the new pro are awesome. It is a must play course. If you ever play this course you will want to play it again.

This great course is in need of some TLC, but still plays very well and is a great value. Could become a five-star facility with some good signage, repaired cartpaths, and a more permanent structure for a clubhouse.

Most certainly the BEST VALUE for such a quality golf course. Everything beautifully maintained, greens are excellent, management is friendly. The course presents a great challenge and the island hole was very unique. I highly recommend this course to anyone in the area. I shot an 84 today. Not too bad considering it was my first time & from the blues....RAZOR from Valdosta.

this is a great place to play if your new or a vet. i have just started back playing after four years off, and this was my second place to play after my come always loved playing this course an now i remember why. its wide an kinda easy if your just out to have fun.

For under 30$, this was a steal. There are many interesting holes here and the course is beautifully maintained. This course is on a par with the RJT couses I have played as far as difficulty and imagination of the layout and beauty of the course. They are still working out of a trailer and the food is limited, but they make up for it with friendliness. Many of the people playing when we were there had stopped on their way north or south as it is just off I-75. Highly recommended!

Do not let the club house(trailer) fool you, this is one of best golf courses in south ga. Great course layout and friendly folks working there. Water comes into play a lot but has gps on the carts. really enjoyed this course and will play again if ever in the area.

This course is probably the best golf value on the planet. The conditions border on immaculate and it is very apparent these folks take a lot of pride in maintaining this course. It has a great layout that is challenging to a low handicapper and fair for someone who's just starting out. If Sunsweet were anywhere else it'd be $150 a round, easy.

The Best Secret in the South

The Golf Club of South Ga is a diamond in the rough. I am a scratch golfer and would rate this course among the $75-$100 courses I have played with all the hospitality the deep south has to offer. This course is perfectly groomed with a lot of water. I live an hour from this course and I don't think twice about skipping out on my home course and making the drive there. Give it a chance and it will win you over too.

Great Value, Course

My group drove more than an hour to try out this course and for my money it was well worth it.

The bad news:
The clubhouse doesnt have much to offer, I dont recall any water stations on the course and the ball washers have not seen clean water in a few weeks.

The good news:
The people are really friendly (we mixed up the tee time and they fit us in with no problems on a Sat. morning), the course is really well maintained, the sand is fresh and raked, the greens have personality and are not just flat circles, water comes into play on a few holes, THE CARTS HAVE GPS YARDAGE units listing everything on the hole (bunkers, water, green), plenty of tee boxes for golfers of all skills.

A hidden GEM you may want to check out.......
