I am an 8 handicap that live about five miles from the course. Walk it nightly. I am 17 but have played many courses, Georgia National being the best. Greens are fast, hard, and the fairways are tight; the rough is also about three and half inches thick. By far National is my favorite course.

Not terribly impressed

I played this course on 3 July 2007 and was not very impressed. It was in fairly good shape and the greens were well manicured, but there just didn't seem to be anything special about the course that makes me want to play it again. Maybe this was due to the fact the front 9 was closed, maybe due to the fact it was jammed with people, but playing it one time is enough. A decent course, but there are much better ones out there.

Now a Canongate Club

Georgia National is now part of the Canongate family of courses. It's a fair test, and plays longer than the yardage. Played on 6-23-07. The greens were fast and firm, the fairways the same. The drought has had an impact on the overall firmness of the fairways, and the frankly limited rough. Still, one of the better Canongate courses.
