Cherokee Town and Country Club, Atlanta, GA

The North Course at the Cherokee Town and Country Club is a gorgeous course that offers five tees for a good fit for beginners or experienced golfers. This premiere private club is for members and their guests only and offers a great escape from nearby Atlanta.

Perfect landscaping and historic charm make this club one of the best in the entire region. Built in the 1950s, the clubhouse exudes Southern elegance that is contrasted by the perfectly manicured course. The soft Bermuda grass fairways are trimmed to perfection and you the bent grass greens are never anything short of spectacular.

This course is one of two offered by the club and is the longer and more difficult of the two. The par-72 back tees are particularly challenging even for experienced golfers as the course carries a 139-slope rating. The North Course stretches over 6,940 yards of rolling terrain, countless bunkers and sharp doglegs. To score well here, you'll need to be sharp off the tee and on the green.

The front nine is a bit longer than the back, thanks in part to the two longest holes on the course, the 597-yard ninth hole and the 563-yard fifth hole. The ninth hole is particularly tricky with two doglegs and a sea of bunkers surrounding the green.

The amenities at the Cherokee Town and Country Club are top notch. There are three separate practice greens, one with bunkers like the ones you'll find on the course. The driving range is spacious and features an impressive 40 tees.
