Course Reviews

Rude staff in the pro shop, great layout though. I don't understand why a financially-strapped organization tolerates such idiots.

brutal..used to be a decent track...fairways are like rough, rough is like US open....not an even lie on the course..and the houses and road surrounding course make u feel claustrophobic...at least it used to be fantastic conditions (years ago)...no redeeming qualities here unfortunately...wont be going back

Nice course but overpriced. Amenities are fair at best and someone needs to tell employees that good service equals tips. Also a drink of water on the course on a hot day in Florida would be nice. Staff doesn't care.

This course has gone downhill dramatically over the last 3 years. At one time it was a premier course, now its an over-priced poorly maintained course. Greens are absolutely horrible. Greens need grass, not sand, to have a smooth roll. They have spent quite a bit on the new clubhouse but they should really hire someone to manage the staff to actually be nice to the customers. The course needs a new superintendent to maintain the course to justify the price and a bar/restaurant manager that can teach the staff that they NEED the customers to have a job. Unless things turns around, this will be a cow pasture with nothing but 80 yr olds playing for $15 on the weekend very soon.

This is a truly goofy golf course. It looks like they ran out of land and had to cram in holes as an afterthought. We had two single digit handicaps in our group and both were out of bounds off the tee on #10. Not even bad shots. The smart play on #10 is to hit a 6 iron off the tee, but come on, it's a par four. The road is just way too close to the course. I wouldn't even recommend driving by the club in your car if you value your windshield. The condition was lackluster and I later found out from the bag boy they have fired two superintendants in one summer. The new golf cars with fancy gps were interesting, but I would have rather had smoother and faster greens and friendly service at the bar. There was a party going on when we finished playing and the golfers at the bar got the boot to make room for the party.

An excellent course at a steal of a price. Tough layout with water everywhere. Greens were hard and fast. Conditions excellent. Clubhouse is being rebuilt. I played as a single in 2 hours 25 minutes at 3 PM on a Thursday afternoon. A few tee shots are blind so get the layout of the hole if possible before you tee off.I played from the Black tees and you need to bring a very good overall game to this course to score well. A must if you stay in the WPB area.

Great track, usually not crowded but that will change & very affordable. Greens are usually in great condition & the layout is one of the best in the area

A MUST play while in the Palm Beach area! Let me start out by saying I am a 6 hdcp. player and have worked my entire life in the hospitality/restaurant/resort/country club industries. First the positives: this course is probably the best fully public course in the area. Nice design, great condition (especially considering the drought conditions in March '09), with a nicely stocked pro shop. The greens fees are reasonable, especially the afternoon fees. I also received a 20% discount on greens fees by presenting my ticket stub from a spring training baseball game. So, a great golfing experience at quite a good price. Put this course on your list of places to play! This is a challenging layout, with lots of bunkers, waste bunkers along the sides of fairways, plenty of water...therefore, be prepared for a test of your game. Note: most golfers (80%) are worse than they think, therefore do everyone a favor and move up a set of tees or two. This will help pace of play, which was dreadful the day I played...a Monday afternoon.
The negatives (which may only have been temporary or only the day I played): In my 5 hours there, I only saw the beverage cart once, about hole #4. It was about 80 degrees that day. Note to mgt.-if the course is busy (as it was this day), keep the cart rolling! This may mean keeping it out until 7 pm. Don't discontinue the cart just because it's 5pm! This is bad business: loss of revenue and poor service. Also, I did not see a course marshal at all. Provide a marshal to insure pace of play. I saw 2 water coolers on the course. They were both empty, one at 4:30 pm, the other at 6 pm. Again, poor service. Also, the carts on the day I played did not have gps systems, though I hear they have been purchased and are on their way. These are a necessity as it helps with pace of play. In the meantime, the course should provide detailed maps of each hole(or a course layout book) to help players navigate the course. One small thing: all courses should invest in prism pins so that players with those types of yardage guns may measure yardages (since there are not gps systems on these carts).
All in all, a terrific golf experience! Visit here soon!
Abacoa also nice, as is Hammock Creek.

Beaufiful course, a great challenge, wounderful clubhouse, professional staff in clubhouse and pro shop....the absolute worse course management I have ever witnessed for a course of this quality!

This is one fine golf course. It is a true test of the game. Played every club in my bag - by the ninth hole - and shot 84 from the blues. A wonderful experience. Recommend an early morning start time. Staff was gracious and courteous. Electric cart was very green, as was the obvious respect for the hazard areas. Let me say it one more time: this is a good course. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Awesome! Beautiful golf course at Public course price. 20+ handicaps better bring two dozen balls. Highly recommend this course

Challanging course from the back tees, drains well we played after a week of rain and had no problems. Tight layout and very interesting holes. Target golf, consistent greens our 8 some has booked for the following week

Best Value in Palm Beach County

There is a reason the course was voted by Golf Digest best value in PBC. Because its true!

My favorite course. The greens are as good as private courses. Feels like you are getting away..

And challenging too, especially in the Winter. Worth the money...

Madison Green

Very Challenging from the tips. A Palm Beach must play along with Abacoa. The course is always in respectable to great shape. Check on airation but otherwise enjoy.
