This golf course is the armpit of Ocala. There is overgrown grass and crabgrass in the fairways, the greens are rough and sandy and the grass is way too tall in the rough. Unless you hit the ball dead on straight every time, be prepared to lose balls. You will even lose balls in the rough. That's why it's so cheap to play here. The grounds crew and the golf course sucks.

This is a decent course in nice shape. It is no pushover...plenty of difficulty here. Front 9 very nicely layed can see the trouble and avoid it....didn't like back 9 at all...some weird, contrived holes..#10 is a very strnge hole indeed...some local knowledge would definintly help one play the back 9...nice rolling greens....overall a nice course that is well worth the $

I played this past Saturday May 2008 I enjoyed the course (yes the course is under maintenance on the greens) but I still shot a 84 from the big boys "T's" the course was great... and I paid $19.20 at 10:30 a,m. so how can you bet that???? Thanks for a great time at your course....I can not wait to play when the course is complete.......

What a great golf course! Restrooms are now built and of all the golf course I have played in the Ocala area, this one is the best! Clubhouse is being planned and the staff said it will be open in 2009. I found the design to be very complimentary, but it was challenging. What Lake Diamond lacks in amenities, they make up for in their professional and courteous staff. It is a must play in the area. Very reasonably priced!

Tough Course

This is a tough course if you don't hit it in the right places. It's in great shape. I played here a few years ago and the place was awful, but the new management has got it back and then some! Lacks a bit in amenities (clubhouse and permanent restrooms in the planning phases) but it's still a good value.

Diamond Lake

Limited ball washers, no restrooms on course. Sand parkinglot, sometimes cart path between holes ends and you have to go "offroading" to get to the next hole.

The front nine was nice. Not much sand though. Greens were nice. Back nine showed a lot of blue on the card, but only a couple of holes turned out to really have any water. 10 and 11 were very nice, but 18 was one of those holes with a terrible design, where you've got trees on one side of a narrow fairway, and people's houses on the other side. You shouldn't have to worry about a ball landing on someone's house! It really ruined the course.

So with the lack of amenities, the deceptive card showing water that isn't there, the off-road condition between some holes, and the inexcusable design flaws with houses too close to the fairway, I can't give this course a good rating.
