Very unorganized golf course. Still no rangers, seems like golfers just hop around and play in front of you..I talked to one of the employees he said just deal with it, there is no control out here..I said you wouldn't act like this if you paid. He told me that the cheap @$!*% that runs the course charges them to play.So our group of 12 have moved on to another course..

Awesome course for the money. Hyde Park has that "old school golf" feel to it. From the wood paneling in the clubhouse, to the traditional layout of the holes. A word of advice, though. They give out the carts in a certain order, and if you get in a cart that is'nt the next to go out, you will get scolded by the cart lady. She'll shake her finger at you and everything. I love this course, it's like being in a time machine.

This is a course that is easy to play. And hard to challenge. Most holes a driver is not needed or desired unless you are accurate. 220+ yard irons from the tee will allow par on most holes. This course if fun for hackers and better golfers. I can leave my house and be golfing in under 30 minutes during the week.

Can not grip and rip here. There are many side by side fairways. I found it nice to play a course that the pros used to play on.

Great traditional old school golf course. It requires thought, shot making and patience...since it's usually crowded. Refreshing change to today's "grip it and rip it" type courses.

Good course. Holes are placed very closely, so accuracy is essential since very bad shots will wind up in an adjacent fairway. Most of the fairways were wide open. There were a couple of holes with good doglegs. It was a nice challenge for a beginner with hills and well placed bunkers and water. Some of the bunkers really made you work to get out of them. Greens were in good shape and had enough challenging breaks so that putting was not too easy.

Good public course that is very well kept considering it's over 75 years old!

The Hyde

Donald Ross design that hasn't been touched throughout the years. I actually enjoy this layout more than what Ross did at nearby Timuquana CC (private). Fun (and reachable) Par 5s, challenging Par 3s (famed "Hogan's Alley" is No. 6) and just a classic golf course. Unfortunately, ownership has sunk more money into cards and gin than irrigation and overall maintnance through the years. Still a must play for fans of Ross and traditional golf courses.

Great Course

This course is a hidden jewel. Most of the courses I have played in Jacksonville are flat, but Hyde Park has many hills and vallies to play in. The tees, fairways, and green are well maintained.
