Great course layout.
Great course conditions.
After a long day in the hospital taking care of COVID 19 patients I was hoping to relax.... It did not work out. I made the mistake of continuing to play 9 more holes with plans to pay for a total of 18 at the end
of the round as I had done in the past. Staff was extremely upset and intercepted me at the 11th hole in a confrontative and condescending manner. Ive only been playing for the last couple of years, so I'm new to the game. Never had I had such a poor interaction in the past at a local are golf course. Despite my apologies this gentleman just drove off after I handed him a 20 dollar bill to pay for the rest of the round. He told me, he was "too busy" to be chasing people around the golf course. If he would have given me time, I would have mentioned how busy we have been in the hospital treating critically ill patients over the last 6 months during this pandemic.. I understand its a business and based on recent reviews it appears that there have been some other players that have taken advantage of his rates, so I can understand his quick, abrupt and prejudgement reaction.....

played on 5/23/12. i was drawn to this course from the website and the positive reviews. i booked a 730 tee time through golf18 network so the price was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the proshop and bathroom were beautiful. the practice green was nice and big, I didnt hit the range so i cant advise on that. they did have a little 19th hole tee box where you hit across the water onto a green w/ a couple flags but it was closed. it looked like fun though. They did update the carts w/ a good GPS system. The course itself was a true links style course and unlike any course i played in FL. The fairways were rolling w/ hills and bumps but nothing too extreme. Some holes did play on top of each other but not many. The greens were difficult. They were undulating and some were so narrow you could barely hold them. THE 18TH GREEN WAS RIDICULOUS. It was the only one i really had a problem with the shape. That green combined with the water in front makes it a round killer. They rolled at a great pace. i only noticed 2 greens that were a little burnt out but they bake in the sun all day from the looks of it. Bunkers and fairways were well manicured. I played the tips and it played all of the yardage. Id recommend this course to everyone. bring your A game though.

Played on 4/17/2011. Course was in very good shape. Greens are very good. Some of the Most challenging greens you'll play. Undulating, tiered, varying sizes. Overall great value for the money. $35.00 Sunday A.M. with Big Summer Card. Drove from Tampa, played a double here and down the street at Eagle Dunes. What are great day!!

I played Black Bear with some golf buddies on Jan. 4. The course is in great condition. I would say it must be the best quality for value in most of Orlando. We played a number of branded courses and paid large green fees. Black Bear's conditioning of greens and fairways is equal to any of the bigger names but at half the price. The links course makes it very different than all the other Florida courses we played. This is a real must to play if you want to be challenged. Its a players course. We understand from the Staff that they are hosting a number of smaller pro tour events so its in high demand by some of the best players. Great practice facilities as well.

We played the course a just before Christmas. It was in wonderful condition. The greens were fast and the fairways were very lush. We heard that the course is under new ownership...and it shows. The staff appear very pleased with the new owners as they are committed to creating a great golf experience. Its very different than most Florida courses due to the undulating fairways and mounding. We heard from the staff the there will be a number of pro tour events coming to Black Bear in 2011 - the course will be a good test. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is good. Its a casual atmosphere but very much golf focused. Great for visitors and tourists as its relaxing and not snobby at all. It must be one of the best values on the Orlando area.

This golf course is great. The wildlife is amazing, and there is water on every single hole. Pretty difficult. I would definitely recomment.
