Course Reviews

Very nice course for a local public course. Enjoyed the layout and in good shape. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Pleasant surprise, the greens are fantastic and the fairways are nice. Fun play, great staff. I met the owner today and he was such an inspiration. I left my phone and seven iron on hole #4. By hole #9 the staff was hunting me down to return my lost items. THANK YOU AGAIN!!! I look forward to returning!!! Oh and did I mention the $22.00 green fee?? Best deal going.

Funny, some things never change! Played this course last Sun (26 May 2013) and my complaints are the same as the ones posted here 5-6 yrs ago. The greens are still horrible, especially the front 9, not worth the price (charged $35 at 1330L, told on phone it would be $20, recipt said $0.00, you figure it out, lol) The course has potential but really needs work, for that price, go east about 5 miles to Victoria Hills, 10xs better, friendlier staff, great drink special, GPS carts, etc.. all for the same "twighlight rate". I played it on the day before, never will return to Glen Abbey, sorry :(

Greens are horrible. Staff was rude.

this course is a challange,it has a good layout and the scenery is nice. the staff was friendly and helpful.
the greens are rough. cut short with a lot of sand patches
but they roll true and fast
but best of all .is the price.. with all golf courses raising their fees, its nice to play a round for $25
so for all those who complain about this course go play bayhill for $120 a round me I'll come back and play this one four times

RockenL is a little too hard on this course. While it is not up to "resort" standards, it is a good layout that will challange the average player. The course is not overly long even from the tips but still plays well. Fairways are tight and the rough isn't that thick on most holes. Greens are not the best but the ball rolls true. With a little more attention, this course could become extremely popular. Right now, it is the local's "little secret".

GA. Player. Your saying of Don't knock it till you tried it. Well, I tried it and now I'm knocking it. The greens were not in that good of shape. The fairways had a lot of bare spots but was playable. They were over-seeding the fairways for winter play. Probably with Rye Grass. I is not a very crowded course. I played by myself and didn't catch up with anyone until the 9th hole and only then did I have to wait at anytime. The back 9 I never saw anyone in front of me or behind me. Pretty well had the course to myself. The greens need a lot of work. Doesn't looked like they have been aerated and sanded this year.

I have play this course 5 times a week. I love it. It has seen some bad times, it closed down for 14 months due to EXTENSIVE hurricane damage. It is up and running, and it looks wonderful. The course is a wonderful course, and very fun to play. It is challenging and very senic. I love this course, and I love the staff here as well. What is that saying? Oh yes:
"Don't knock it until you've tried it!!!"

Good layout but hasn't been maintained in a long time. Many greens completely died. The only reason to play here is if you're with a beginner: it's not crowded, and your friend can learn the game in peace.

dirt track

This could be a nice course, and I'm sure those who own the homes surrounding the golf course wish it met the standards of the community. The layout is decent, but the maintenance is virtually non-existant. I took a friend visiting from out of state, and was embarrassed I booked this place. This is more of a dirt track than a golf course. Green fee is inexpensive for Central Florida, but is overpriced for such a pitiful excuse for a golf course.

Glen Abbey Golf Course

This course has good potential but is in very bad condition. Most of the greens are bare and the fairways are full of crabgrass and other weeds. I went in late October and played the front nine and it only cost $9.00, it's worth a dollar a hole but not much more. It's a shame that this course has been so neglected it's in a beautiful are and could be a nice course but it's going to need a lot of attention.
