Omni ChampionsGate Golf Club, Davenport, FL

Very disappointing. Granted the weather was cold and windy when we played, but the course simply is nothing to write home about. I paid $100 and the courses I played for about half were similar if not better (Shingle Creek was great for $60). The staff was friendly enough and the bartender was very nice, but the actual golf course was let down. I would look elsewhere.

We played the course because it was so highly rated and it turned out to be grossly overated. The greens conditions were poor at best with a black irregular surface. The fairways were okay down the center but nothing special. The course is somewhat difficult but poorly designed. I wouldn't describe it as a links course but as a poorly kept community course. It looks more like someone was too cheap to spend enough money to water a larger area. I am surprised that Greg Norman would put his name to a course like this. The pictures on the website are misleading. It's far from green as the pictures indicate. I wouldn't waste my money again at this facility!!!

Great layout, its an enjoyable course. It is certainly challenging, and your irons better we working or your score is going to reflect it in a big way. The course is in pretty good shape, with nothing to complain about, but is a little lacking compared to some of the other resort courses in the area. If you manage to play for a decent rate, it makes for a great round. I personally don't feel it is worth the rack rate they ask.
