this course is the biggest dogpatch pieceofshit in the history of golf you gotta be kidding me it looks like the town dump

RIGHT NOW THE COURSE IS TORN UP TO REPLACE SOME OLD PLUMMING. SOME GREENS ARE IN TERRIBLE SHAPE AND NOT BEING WATERED. THE FAIRWAYS ARE IN DIRE STRAITS FOR LACK OF WATER.

This course needs a professional landscaper. Tees and fairways indistinguishable from rough. Crabgrass and weeds predominate. Greens and fringe dirt in many places. Course is pretty but upkeep completely takes away from setting. Too far away to ever do again. Groupon gift from daughter for fathers day took us there but even groupon won't get us back. Avoid. Plenty of better shape courses in ct.

This course has come around quite a bit since I have been playing. It use to be crab grass and clovers, but most of that is gone. They seem to be doing a much better job of maintaining it...plus the restaurant is open now.

Played Banner for first time in about 10 years or so. It is a work in progress but has come a long way. The fariways and tees have grass, the greens were fine, and they built a nice nice new clubhouse/bar. Some of the rough and cart paths need work but it looks like they are trying. Price was good also. Would play it again.

I'm a teenage golfer, who goes out every other weekend or so. I like banner only for the reason that I can get 9 holes for 12bucks. Otherwise I would not recommend that anyone go here. Other than it being in a scenic place it gets little approval even from me. I have played shots directly to the center of the fairway and have ended up hitting off of dirt. Miantanence is very poor, cart paths are in bad condition. the coarse is very easy and not much of a challenge, if you can hit straight, the first 5 holes will be a breeze. little true skill is needed to do well here. My recomendation is if you are practicing, this place is great. If you are looking to entertain any friends or bussiness partners, you will be much more satisfied finding another course and shelling out a couple more dollars.

Not ready for the big time...

I golf in a traveling league and this was our 1st course of the season. (Sunday, May 6th - 2007)The course itself could be really nice. It was $44 for 18 holes, a cart and a bucket of balls at the driving range. It looks like they are building townhouses and condos up around the course before they improve the course itself. The course itself is in bad shape. There really aren't any tee boxes with grass on them, it's pretty much sand and dirt to tee off from. There was no distinction between fairway and rough other than being dead nuts in the middle of the hole. The greens are in terrible shape. too many airation holes and bare spots in the greens. The course was mushy in many places. Cart paths are non-existant. On the plus side, there are a some challenging holes with water and there is some nice scenery to the course. I do believe that this course will be improved greatly in the future because of the community they are building up just off the course, but this won't be for a few years. If you want to use this course strictly for practice, by all means go for it.
