The 18-hole "Marine Park" course at the Marine Park Golf Course facility in Brooklyn, New York features 6,866 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.2 and it has a slope rating of 119 on Blue grass. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, ASGCA, the Marine Park golf course opened in 1964.

Strongly agree with RRDS's comment on the attitude part of those guys in pro shop. They have no intention to help customers.

Played Marine Park on a beautiful May Saturday right after running the Brooklyn Half Marathon. I read these reviews before I played and had low expectations. I also played this course three years ago and was not too impressed. We played Marine Park primarily because it was the closest golf course to the end of the half marathon and the fact that my wife wants to eventually play all of the City courses and this was one that was still outstanding on her list. I warned my wife to expect a mediocre course and some rude service.

Well none of that happened. Course management was pleasant and accommodating. There were plenty of rangers along the course who maintained a reasonable pace of play. Regarding the course, there are a couple of holes that they are re-sodding but they are apparently putting some money into this puppy.

The course itself is a links-style layout. It is quite long - about 6,900 yards from the tips and a robust 6,600 yards from the whites. For ladies, the course measures about 5,400 yards, a challenging distance for them. There is minimal water on the course - the only hole where water comes into play is hole number 9, a par 4 with water on the left hand side. The fairways are not very wide, but there are not many trees on the course, so if you miss a fairway, you usually still have a reasonable shot to recover.

The course is a standard layout of four par 3s, four par 5s, with the rest par 4s. There are some great views of the Verrazano Bridge and the Manhattan skyline, including the Freedom Tower under construction.

It is a City course, so it is expensive, but there are deals online. We paid $44 each for a round with cart. Full retail price is about $63 per round with cart.

So in summary, this is a much improved course. Give it a try if you have never played it and if you have played it in the past and were turned off, try it again.

This is hands down the worst / ugliest course I have ever played. I would still play here again if it were not for the staff at the pro shop. They have too much attitude, they have no manners and they lie through their teeth, basically doing whatever they want to do. It's a classic example of mere administrators exploiting/enjoying their "power" -- what they need to understand is that we PAY for the service and they are not doing us a huge favor by letting us play. They are genuinely bad human beings and I will never come back here again.

this course sucks big time in Sunday ny daily news is a article saying how they turned away a program to help kids with mental disorders,& autism. Signs of racism are still around will never go away, but now its address to with kids with mental disorders. i'm sorry that this happened, being the olny 18 hole public golf course in brooklyn i'll travel to NJ to play my rounds those of you that choose to stay good luck maybe they will get the point, these Kids need and out & being outdoors was a great idea!!! Good Try Mr. Lightfoot clap clap clap
