The 9-hole "Par Three" course at the Audubon Golf Course facility in Amherst, New York features 990 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 27. Designed by William Harries, the Par Three golf course opened in 1942.
Audubon Golf Course is a 9 hole, Par 3 municipal course. It’s also one of the shortest courses I’ve ever played (even for a Par 3) at just 990 yards. The longest hole is #8 at 145 yards. The price is reasonable - $23 for 9 holes with a cart. If you sign up to play 18 you should know that you’ll just be playing the same 9 holes twice. The course has a standard layout (no surprises) and a good pace of play. The greens are flat and open. This course can be swampy in springtime or after rainy weather. The condition of the greens isn’t great, and there are mats in the tee boxes. There’s a putting green, but no driving range. Keep in mind that there is no restaurant on-site, only a putting green. The course is basic and doesn’t offer much in the way of scenery. It’s a good course for a quick round. Leave your driver at home for this one.
The Pro in the clubhouse was rude on my last occasion. I had played at this course a couple of times and had a good experience. The last visit was horrendous. The course was "wet" as they had told us but it turned out to be a SWAMP in the middle of every fairway. The course should have had reduced rates for the fall but were still charging customers the usual summer rates. After playing 9 holes and being covered with mud we decided to call it quits. The Pro refused to refund us our last 9 holes that we had already paid for. We would have gladly pay the rates for first 9 holes but the pro stated that we should have known better. I guess they do not care for our continued business. After being fed up with the attitude of the Pro and the condition of the course, we decided to leave and never come back. Background: I have worked at a 4 star golf course from 2004-2008 in Rochester, NY. I've been golfing for 9 years and have never been treated this way.
