The 18-hole "Rackham" course at the Rackham Golf Course facility in Huntington Woods, Michigan features 6,555 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. Designed by Donald J. Ross, ASGCA, the Rackham golf course opened in 1924.
Rackham is a gem of a Golf Detroit course. Advertised as a Donald Ross design, it is only the back 9 that still have Ross' fingerprints on them. The front 9 was redesigned due to the highway expansion that borders the first hole. That said...wow, what a course. Despite being a public course, it is in amazing condition. Fairways well maintained, greens rolling true.....definitely not what you would expect from a heavily played muni. The staff was very welcoming and were very proud of their little slice of Donald Ross history. If in Detroit, this should be on your play list.
Nice course. Pleasant staff. Well maintained. Will recommend
OK course for the price but not a lot of water, mostly always crowded, waiting required on almost every hole, staff rude, unfriendly, belligerent. Would not repeat.
Nice course for the price. It has plenty of bunkers but does lack water. The fairways and greens are in good shape this time of year.
