Grand Rapids Golf Club has been closed for 10 years ??

The course is not nearly as bad as some reviews. Good value, easy layout, conditions were very playable.

Now I am one who is usually skeptical about bad reviews of golf courses. I usually take them with a grain of salt as I, as a 17 HCP, have few needs in a golf course. But this place is HORRIBLE. First, I had booked my tee time on golfnow.com and when I arrived the gentleman taking care of the shop was visibly offended that I had gotten such a discounted price and proceeded to call about three different people to complain about it, all while I was standing there.

I finally was able to get out onto the course and it was only a couple of holes before I thought i was the one who got ripped off! The fairways were unbelievably hard..so hard that at one point I tried to take a divot by swinging my club as hard as I could at the middle of a fairway and I couldn't even make a dent in the ground...I am dead serious. The greens were bad with 30-50% burned out spots.

Needless to say I will never return and I don't blame you if you are skeptical about this review, but wow this was one of the worst courses I have ever played on.
