Course Reviews

Like the nice patio by the putting green and the 10th hole. Nice little course, easy but you have to take a cart because of the distance between some of the tees. Do climb the tower if you have a wait on the 8th tee. Great view of Revere and Boston skyline.

Had my first hole-in-one on #3!

Played this course for the first time this past weekend. It's pretty hilly with a bunch of really beautiful holes. The course was in really good shape, and a good workout walking all of those hills.

A little pricey, but nice clubhouse, and lots of challenging holes with big greens. Looking forward to logging another round...

Lunch is great. nice outdoor patio to enjoy a beer. Back nine half as hard as front. you do have to ignore most people around not friendly.

Decent course. Well maintained. Close to home so I play it about every other week and don’t tire of it.
Can be hilly. Worth a play.

Ah, Mount Hood. How far you have come! When I was a kid, this course was absolutely atrocious. Grass was burnt, greens were in disrepair, traps never raked. You've come a long way, baby! I recently went back and talk about a 180-degree difference! The clubhouse is beautiful, with the stonework outside - very quaint sitting up on the hill. The staff is relatively friendly - maybe they are jealous you are going golfing and they are stuck inside all day? Some of the holes have changed, but the course itself is still quite difficult. Some of the toughest holes I've ever played are here. The maintenance is superb - lush green holes, well-maintained greens and tees. No road-noise at all so playing is quite peaceful (aside from trying to navigate these impossible holes!). There are some odd configurations here, such as the 9th green almost on top of the practice green. Before you head out for a game and you are practicing your putting, it's not uncommon for a ball to come flying by you with no warning. Keep your wits about you! The 5th green is right near the 1st tee - if it weren't for the few trees and ancient shed (?) you'd get hit while teeing off for sure. Overall I do like this course. If you're in the mood for a challenge, play it.

Course is challenging, but conditions are not always the best. Very slow course especially on the front nine. Think 6 hour rounds.

This is a challenging little bugger of a course for an average golfer. You must play everything straight. There are no pitch outs from the woods as this course is built on a huge rock ledge. Lot of narrow holes. Lots of hills. AMAZING views on some holes of Boston's skyline. The greens are nice and the course is well maintained. I had the round of my life here and if you don't it could get frustrating. Spraying the ball left or right will really make you want to end your round prematurely here. But, I enjoyed playing Mt. Hood.

Mythic Links

I havent played the "Hood" since 1975....but my memories of it are crystal clear. It was the first course i broke "80" at when i was 12 years old....it had a Scottish flavor on a few of the holes....accuracy being at a premium...its a short course that can be muscled but the risk reward is dire at times.....easy birdies....easy double and triple bogies...i think the 7th hole...a par three of about 215 yards is one of the best par threes in New England...will be playing in September again....i look forward to it

It was okay

Mount Hood Golf Course was a nice course, however it plays longer then it appears. Pay no attention to the yardages because they are not accurate. A beautiful view of the Boston Sky Line, however due to the steel company right next to the 13th hole it is not peaceful or quiet.
