Columbia Golf Club , Columbia, IL

Played there twice last week. Course was in good shape, especially considering the rainy spring and blistering hot summer we had. I liked the greens. Not too difficult for this bogey golfer, but challenging enough. The tee boxes are a bit thick so bring your longer tees. Scorecard only shows 6,000 yards, but it plays a bit longer than that to me. Nice folks in the clubhouse. Cart girls on the course seen frequently. Overall a very nice experience. I wish it had a meeting room to hold a large tourney. No dark beers at the bar.

First time played in over 20 years due to jobs taking my family across country. Course is well designed. For several reasons, it is great for beginners through mid level amateurs for improving their games.

I give Columbia a 4 star rating. I have played numerous times, and the fairways, tees and greens are in very good shape and sufficiently watered despite being a fairly heavily played public course.
For an average duffer, the course combines challenge with the possibility of success, making it fun to play. Good scores can be had by consistent play.

December - 60 degrees with 5 - 10 mph wind with gusts up to 20 mph

first time in almost ten years that I have played this course. Freak of nature winter day. I enjoyed my self. It's a comfortable course. The greens were in good shape. the fairways were decent. I played the round of my life and scored my best score ever. 81. I was obviously thrilled with the score, but the course was decent. I have high standards for golf courses after living in Alabama and playing the RTJ Golf trail year round. This course is adequate. A little pricey for the setting, but a decent course.
