Carmi Country Club, Carmi, IL

Every time I play at Carmi I have a bad experience due to the staff. Today was no different. Rude, discourteous and unwelcoming sum up my thoughts on the guy running the proshop today. I will never set foot on that course again.

Aside from the staff, the course is fair. It's a short little 9 hole layout with tiny postage stamp greens. The green fees are high for the area....and especially high for a lack luster 9 hole course. There are way better options in the area.

Overall, I would give the course 3 stars but the staff ruined my experience so I would give an overall rating of a half star...at best.

This is a short 9 hole course, kept in fairly good condition. Greens and bunkers are kept in good shape. Green-Fees are comparable to bigger 18 hole courses in the area though. Staff is not friendly at all. When me and a fellow college golfer walked into the clubhouse we got the feeling that this course used to be private because the staff made us feel like we didn't belong on their course. Then when we finished on #18/9, we decided to hit a couple of putts before we left. There wasn't anyone on the entire course except for us(you can practically see every hole on the whole course from #9 green). Then maybe 5 minutes after we started putting around, the guy in the proshop comes outside and jumps all over us for practicing on the course. We haven't been back since.
