Hilo Golf Course Description

The 18-hole "Hilo" course at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course facility in Hilo, Hawaii features 6,325 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 70.4 and it has a slope rating of 121 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Willard G. Wilkinson, ASGCA, the Hilo golf course opened in 1951. Troy Tamiya manages the course as the General Manager.

I played this course in May of 2008. The course was very interesting and scenic. It was also challenging in some respects. We were fortunate to have sunshine as Hilo can be quite rainy. I would recommend playing a round if you have the time. Play early as the temp gets high by noon. I will also play this course again when we return.
