The 18-hole "El Campeon" course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club facility in Howey In The Hills, Florida features 6,923 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.2 and it has a slope rating of 135 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Charles E. Clark, the El Campeon golf course opened in 1917. Bud Beucher manages the course as the General Manager / Co-Owner.

This course is a GEM! For a skilled player it's certainly worth the drive from Orlando or even further. Narrow landing areas mean you need to use good judgement off the tee. The large greens are heavily contoured and in overally good shape. Much more hilly than other Florida courses, with 8-10 truly memorable holes and no bad ones. Several island-style greens make it a less ideal test for weaker player, but it's still a fun layout, just expect to lose some golfballs. I used every club in my bag, with diverse challenges and no duplication at all. Outstanding.

Course not in good shape. There was no marshal on duty and I was stuck behind a foursome for 8 holes and they never let me play through as a single. I quit the round due to this issue

Played Las Calinas first then El Campeon-Things went from good to great! Not your typical Florida course, mature trees, elevation changes, hills, and great staff and service. Worth the drive!
