Southwinds Golf Course , Boca Raton, FL

This is the least expensive of the palm Beach Courses. Play can be slow. No rangers to move the game along . In season play can be real slow with many seniors. However its a nice course to start out with for beginners. Easyscore if you dont get caught up in trying to go over the water on many drives. Not particularly well kept mostly average but great price nice people.

Hairy greens this summer. Putting is very very slow and won't hold a line. The first and twelfth holes need redesigning, badly. The first is a layup (unless you're stupid). Then a rather long shot into the green. This is not a good starting hole. The twelfth hole is ridiculous. A few years ago they blocked out the left side of the tee box so you couldn't go for the green in one (par 4). They were worried about the 14th green. All they needed to do was plant the trees on the other side of the water and that would have insulated green 14 and allowed for a tee shot to the 12th. What idiots.

Nice average course - lots of water so bring extra balls just in case. I'd play here again - a great value for the $. Some holes need work - bald patches and FIRE ANTS!

Very good course. Lots of water but very manageable. recommend playing this course.

Southwinds is Great

Southwinds is a great course with a lot of water holes. Seriously, almost every hole has water in it but is is not always in play. Not too crowded and they do a good job spreading people out. A good course for any skill level and it is maintained well. Overall a fun course but a few exciting holes like 18 in which you must hit over the water twice. Less par 5 than a usuall course. Not an amazing value but not expensive either.
