Course Reviews

I played here Feb. 22nd & 24th, 2011 The weather was perfect all week, and it was the start of their prime season rates. The fairways were cut nice and short, and the rough was a bit short too. However, the greens were FULL of ball marks! I'm not sure if golfers on vacation take a cation from golf etiquette and stop repairing their ball marks, but for $160.00 greens fees, and what they market the course as, they should be better cared for. I also was paired with a two-some (we played as a three-some), We were by no means playing slow, and all play under a 5 handicap, but some lady marshall told us TWICE we had to play a little faster because of a group outing 2 holes behind us. She finally left us alone when I told her to pound sand- and to come back when there was a group behind us waiting on every hole (we never saw her again), and no one ever caught us. I HATE SLOW PLAY! But don't push players if there no one waiting! Lastly, The range for The Palm course has no area to chip. Well, let me re-phrase that. There is an area by a shed with a pin in the ground that you can chip to, but why bother if you can't chip onto a green. The range itself was fairly decent. I guess I'd play it again if I could play for less than $100.00. But I would rather play a perfectly manicured course for $250.00

I played here for the first time on February 18, 2009. I had 88 shots with 3 holes to play. I had to play the last 3 holes on the course at even par to break 100 for the 1st time ever.(I started on hole 10, so the last 3 holes for me were 7, 8, and 9. I made a bogey 6 on the par 3 7th. on hole 8, a par 3, I hit a hybrid off the tee and it landed in the right bunker. i got up and down to save a par 3. I had 97 shots now, and I needed to make a birdie 3 on the last to break 100. After a good tee shot, I was in the fairway 200 yards away from the green. I hit a driver and it fell short of the green, and my final chip for birdie came up short. I finished up with a bogey 5 for the hole, and i shot a 102 for the round. (I have now broken the 100 mark.)

The Palms is a good course usually, but it was too wet when we played it this year because of the rain it received all week. Cart path only with thin layer of water in many areas of the fairway. The Disney courses are nice, but expensive & the staff don't seem to care if you play there or not. Orange County National is much better all around.

My favorite of all the Disney courses becasue it is loaded with wild life from Deer to Turkeys. It would be nice if a resturant was available.

This was my first experience playing Florida golf. Like everything else disney does, the staff and course conditions were first class. It rained quite hard for quite a long time the night before I played and the course was in fine shape. Even with all that rain, I was able to play without problems in tennis shoes. As for the course itself, I thought it was a bit bland. The greens did not have much character, and most every hole was a driver hole. I still enjoyed myself quite a bit though, and I would probably go back.

Disney's Palm

My first trip to Disney was enhanced greatly by playing this course. The layout was challenging, yet fair. The greens were immaculate and rolled beautifully. The sand was perfect ( 3/4 in sand saves ) and the fairways were in good shape, especially for a resort course that gets a lot of play and for only being 2 weeks after the Funai Classic. The round played along crisply at just under 4 hours and the in cart GPS helped on all shots. Finishing the year and my golf season with a birdie on 18 made it all worth while! Great course!
