The Rookery, Milton, DE

My friend John and I played the Rookery on 03/14/11. The conditions were cool and windy, with spotty sunshine. The course is very much links style, particularly on the front 9. The back 9 has a different flavor and we agreed that we liked it a little better. Carts were electric and well maintained. The course was in decent shape considering the time of year and seems well groomed. All in all it was a positive experience, even if we didn't score well. *If I did have to note one thing, it would be that the employees all seemed as though they'd just received a big shot of thorazine. They were accomodating and courteous, but just seemed zombie like. It was odd....

A nice OPEN course. I've been playing terribly lately and not looking for a challenge - I chose wisely. They had many people on staff to attend to clubs and carts and such which was unexpected and impressive. The course itself was in very good shape. It's not easy to find a good value course in a vacation area but all things considered $69 for the round is too much.
