Golf Clubs At The Tribute, The Colony, TX

The Tribute is a premiere course in the area for public play. It gets a ton of play, so the greens are difficult to maintain. However, I have enjoyed every round I have played here. I like the Scottish history that they seek to emulate and consider it a fantastic place to play. I recommend it highly.

We played Tribute earlier this year during winter and course was great. Greens were smooth and fast although dormant. Played again last week and I concur with the prior review. Greens were in bad shape, dead spots and no one repairs ball marks. Rest of course in decent shape. Other problem - played Friday afternoon and took almost 3 hours to play 9 holes. Really dissapointing because could be so much better.

I was excited about finally playing the Tribute with the positive reviews I have read about it but I left the course very disappointed. The greens were the worse I have seen in North Texas with dead grass, multiple divot holes and average fairways which may me wonder who would pay over $100 to play this course. The only positive experiences were the cart girls with their great attitude and the lunch (Fish & Chips). I am glad I used my Avid Golfer coupon to play the course. I would recommend the Frisco Lakes GC as a better alternative only two blocks away.
