Badly maintained course. Lots of drainage problems. And to top it off, a rude staff. Avoid this one at all costs!

Played 18 today for the 1st time and really enjoyed the course for $25. Most of the greens were in terrible condition and overall it is maintained poorly. I really enjoyed the layout. This would be an awesome course if someone would invest a little more time and money in the maintenance. I will try it again when it cools down in the fall. The temp has been in the high 90's and low 100's with a drought, so I am giving them another chance.

i remember playing this course during the Tornado outbreak of April 2006. was caught on the course when a F3 cell came through but we were very fortunate we managed to make it back to shelter in the basement of the restaurant/clubhouse while the Tornado went directly over the course. that said, the condition of this course was in disarray even before those storms slammed it in 2006. was hoping it would rebound but based on the recent reviews below, think i'll skip it as it sounds like funds have run dry & they can no longer afford the maintenance needed to keep it in playable condition. what a shame because the layout was very challenging & truly scenic

I played this course on august 2010, and it was not playable.

I have played 12 Stones several times in the past 6 years, and played it in July 2010. Unfortunately, this course is in a very bad state of dis-repair. I don't know if this was partially caused by the flooding in May, or if the owners don't have the funds to keep it up properly, but it was definitely not playable. The tees were non-existent on many of the holes, and did not appear to have been cut in weeks. The fairways were very shaggy and had little roll to them. The rough was similar to the fairways except much worse. The greens had brown worn patches, deep pit marks, and were running about a 4 or 5 on a Stimp. REALLY slow. The bunkers had very little playable sand, and was non-existent in some bunkers. The first fairway had been cut, but had been previously so long, that large amounts of grass were clumped together in very long lines where the tractor had been. Just unplayable without scraping the grass away. The first green was totally unplayable, with large dead brown patches. In addition, there is a totally unreasonable amount of crab grass throughout the entire course...fairways & rough, first cuts, and greens. There does not seem to be any pro-active maintenance going on.

This course has always been a great tract to play, and should not be allowed to continue getting worse. For some unknown reason 12 Stones is unplayable this year. I was charged $22.00 to play. Thing is, I called to make a tee time, and unfortunately no one told me the course was in such bad shape. I would not have gone there otherwise.

I would not suggest anyone playing this course at the present time. I WOULD suggest that the owners seriously consider closing one of the nines (or the entire course), and spend a year getting the course back into shape. I'm really surprised that there has not been an uprising among the upscale homeowners that surround this course about the condition.
