Harvester 1 Golf Course Description

The 18-hole "Harvester 1" course at the The Harvester facility in Rhodes, Iowa features 7,240 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 75.3 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Bent grass. Designed by Keith R. Foster, ASGCA, the Harvester 1 golf course opened in 2000. Andy Boyle manages the course as the Golf Professional.

I've played Pebble and Bethpage and The Harvester isnt that much below these courses. As good as any public in the midwest. Cart service is poor but the clubhouse is beautiful.

Greens better than Whistling Straits, which were exceptional. Holes 9, 17 and 18 don't seem to fit remainder of course. Worth every penny.

Greens are in great condition, variety of distances for all players. Miss on the wrong side of the greens and you will be making bogey. Fairways are fairly wide until the finishing stretch of holes. Great scenery. Severly over-priced, but worth it to play once or twice a summer. Beverage service has been horrible each time I've played it.

This is probably the best course in Iowa. The course design, scenery, maintenance, amenities, etc. are all top of the line. I shot one of my worst rounds of all time here due to the overall difficulty of this course. The price of over $70 is a little spendy for me to golf more than once a year. If you want to play a top notch course this is the place to play.

This is my favorite course in Iowa that I've played. Challenging, yet playable. Foster is one of my favorite course designers.

Harvester definitely worth the trip

I've played approx 200 courses and this is in my top 10 list of favorites. The greens were as good as I've played (the starter claimed they were running 14 on the stimp). There are a number of cool holes with multiple risk/reward options. We played 36 in 100 degree heat and had a blast.
