The 9-hole "Egret" course at the Carolina National Golf Club facility in Bolivia, North Carolina features 3,500 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36. Designed by Fred Couples/Gene Bates, the Egret golf course opened in 1998.
The course was great! Fairways were impeccable. Most if the greens were in really great shape. My problem lies with golflink. I went through the process to book a tee time for 3 players and PAID for 3 players. When I showed up to the course, they said I only booked a tee time for 1 person. I talked to the guy working the front desk and he said stuff like this happens all the time with golflink.
Excellent course. Challenging but fair. Course was in great condition. Will return in the future
I bought our tee times from an online multi-course vendor. Booking the tee time in the afternoon the day before the tee time led to a lot of confusion. The list of golfers that the starters were working from that day were printed the day before and before I had made my reservation. Since our names were not on the starter's list, they kept us waiting 10 minutes while they figured out what happened and then additional time to work us in on the fly. During this time, I was like an unwelcome guest. As the person who made the tee time for my friends, it was embarrassing. No regret was expressed by the starter or anyone else. As to the course, it had some good holes but some of the maintenance has been deferred. The snack bar downstairs needs to be renovated.
This is a first rate track (27 holes) that provides generous fairways with a great layout. No gimmicks, but a very good test of golf. The conditioning was great and just a treat to play. The service was also very good, but for an overly aggressive cart guy. A great experience.
